HUMBLE BEGINNINGS… Founded in 1948, the Blue Anchor started as a roadside motor lodge and restaurant by Bill & Anna Johnson. In 1963, the restaurant was torn down. the Johnson's continued to rent their three units seasonally and in 1994 completely renovated all the units. Constant care and upgrades to the units have continued and with the addition of a full service gift shop, the Blue Anchor continues its 58-year legacy of serving the needs of tourists and locals alike. Anna at age 85 is still active in the business working side by side with her son Kimball, daughter-in-law Penny and third generation granddaughter Chelsea. So come relax, enjoy yourself with hiking, biking, swimming, boating, and of course fishing. we hope you will choose the BLUE ANCHOR CABINS for your next stay at Willoughby Lake.
